Tools to Help You Navigate Your Awakening

What Awakening Looks Like:

Tools to help you navigate more effectively.

The awakening journey can be very overwhelming.

Usually, it starts with personal turmoil and hardship, a combination of external events and internal struggle. The tension is designed to be a catalyst to get us to look inward for a new solution: a new way of looking at the world, a new way of being, and a new way of living.

That is what awakening means.

But what does it look like in practice?

To begin, we must understand why this path is so confusing:

Why is it so difficult to find the answers you are looking for?

Given how many people are awakening right now, why is it so hard to get an answer on ‘how’ to expand awareness in an effective and efficient manner?

Why is there not a clear path forward for us? Shouldn’t it have been figured out by now?

That’s what this article is all about: sharing what the path of awakening looks like so that you can understand why it is so difficult, why your journey is so unique, and why you have to empower yourself as opposed to relying on other people’s interpretations.

It starts by understanding that awakening is self-directed learning rather than a standardized curriculum.

We are all going to the same destination, but on different paths:

When it comes to awakening, what is our destination?

Where are we actually headed? And how do we get there?

People will have different answers for these questions, and that’s okay.

From a big-picture perspective, one might argue that the ‘ultimate destination’ is reunification with Source. However, that is beyond the purpose of this incarnation, so I will keep it a bit narrower.

For the sake of this article, I will share my interpretation:

Awakening is the process of remembering who we really are, where we came from, and why we came here.

It’s a journey of self-discovery that translates into purpose and service, allowing us to live authentically and in alignment with our true reason for being.

Awakening is less about the destination and more about the journey:

Imagine you are climbing Mount Everest with tens of thousands of others. But instead of everyone following a single path, you are all starting from different locations, scattered around the mountain.

Some are just approaching the mountain, some are at the base, and some are partway up. No two people have identical paths, nor identical perspectives. One person halfway up the north side will have a completely different path and view than someone just starting on the south side.

Your journey is yours alone. The specific information, perspectives, and beliefs that help you move forward may not be applicable to someone else in a different location. If I were on the north, and you on the south, and I told you to ‘turn left at the giant boulder’ – you would either misidentify your own boulder, or be confused when you can’t find the boulder I’m describing. That creates unnecessary internal tension.

This is why it’s less about seeking external information and validation and more about following a reliable method for acquiring internal insight and direction.

The goal is to lean on others for orientation, not direction.

We shouldn’t rely on another person’s beliefs and interpretations; instead, develop our own methods for following our own path.

But here’s where many stumble: they think their beliefs are the truth, as opposed to a version of truth that is only supposed to help reveal the next milestone – rather than be the final stop. So instead of continuing their awakening journey, they allow the ego to trap them in stagnation.

To prevent these pitfalls, there are some tools to support your journey:

Tools to equip you on your journey:

We’ve established that everyone’s journey follows a different path, with different perspectives, vantage points, and goals. This might make things seem even more complicated and overwhelming, but we would encourage you to see it as liberating instead.

You are not bound by other people. You are free to explore, discover new things, and express your authentic self as you navigate your path.

You become the master of your own ship instead of a passenger on another’s vessel.

If you consider a typical backcountry hiking trip, you will want a few supplies to help you navigate off the beaten path:

1.      Map

2.      Compass

3.      Backpack

4.      Radio/Comms

Map:

The challenge with awakening is that the map is unclear – it’s either incomplete or has misleading information that isn’t accurate for you. This is the equivalent of being dependent on other people’s perspectives rather than your own. The created maps are from someone else’s path… Not yours. So, you need to create your own map.

But how do we do that?

This can only be achieved through exploration and curiosity. By courageously taking new paths, discovering new sights, and logging your progress.

Your map contains where you are and where you’ve been, and it’s up to you to chart the path forward.

Compass:

You don’t need to know the whole journey, just the next bound. And that’s what the compass is for.

Your compass is your internal navigation system that helps keep you aligned, moving in the right direction, and overcoming the obstacles in your way.

You can view your compass as your intuition—the connection between your vessel and your interdimensional supports. These supports include your higher self, guides, and other allies who are here to help you on your journey.

Your compass is internal and felt through intuition and values. When you are at a fork in the road, look internally for guidance. If a decision feels heavy, off, or distressing, chances are it’s unaligned. If the potential decision feels light, exciting, or encouraging, then it is likely the right path for you.

The right path isn’t the easy one; it’s the one that flows.

The more you use your internal compass for navigation, the faster you will grow. Test your compass by noticing one decision that feels light vs. heavy.

Backpack:

Your backpack holds your supplies for the journey. But for many, their backpacks are filled with too much junk, weighing them down and obscuring their connection with themselves. Our goal is to remove the things that weigh us down: conditioning, trauma, limiting beliefs, limiting relationships, life situations, or anything else that restricts our awakening.

Often, we are catalyzed into our awakenings when our backpacks become so heavy that we are forced to look inward to see what is going on. Sometimes this is called shadow work or the dark night of the soul.

You can view the process of lightening your backpack as ‘raising your frequency.’ When we lighten the load, we can navigate more easily. Remember, you can’t step into the future version of you with one foot stuck in the past.

So, ask yourself, “What am I carrying that I can get rid of?” And trust the answer you receive.

Radio/Comms:

Lastly, you have communication. But if everyone is on their own path, and if their perspectives aren’t overly relevant or helpful for you, who should you be communicating with?

The answer is simple: your guides, allies, and higher self. They have the best perspective and understanding of your position, situation, and needs, and are equipped to provide everything you need on your journey.

Our goal is empowerment, not dependence.

Other people’s perspectives can provide context, but they should not be the only source of guidance for you.

When you become the source of your inspiration, you gain the power to overcome any obstacle in your way.

You might wonder how to connect with your allies, and that is through telepathy. We recommend reading our [in progress] Guide to Telepathy, which parts 1 and 2 are currently published.

Remember that your thoughts are not yours alone. Take a moment to have an inner dialogue and work out the problems in your mind. You might be surprised at the wisdom you find internally.

Mindset of Awakening:

Your mindset is your most valuable tool. It sets the foundation for how you experience reality and guides your behaviour.

Sounds great, right?

But what is mindset, and how can we improve our mindset?

Simply put, your mindset is a combination of your beliefs and thoughts that form a narrative or attitude that guides your behaviour.

Your mindset literally shapes your behaviour.

The most common challenge in awakening is our beliefs. We have beliefs that shape our perspectives and how we view the world, ourselves, and our purpose.

If you want new behaviors, you need to start with your mindset.

As our awareness expands, old beliefs often clash with new understanding, leading to ontological and existential questions, such as:

1.      How do I accept that I am more than my physical existence?

2.      How can I live with the perspective that we aren’t alone in the universe?

3.      How can I integrate the expanded awareness that the Earth is shifting?

These are just some of the common ones, but the awakening path is full of shocks as we discover the universe is much, much bigger than we could ever have imagined.

So, what can we do about this? How can we adopt a growth mindset that allows for seamless expansion that doesn’t destabilize, but rather, empowers?

This is why I view beliefs differently now.

Beliefs as stepping stones:

Imagine that you are crossing a raging river in the fog. You can only see a few feet in front of you, and a stone is exposed above the water. You know you must keep moving forward, but you can’t see what lies beyond that next step. So, you take the leap to the stone, and in doing so, the next stone is revealed. You repeat the process until you reach the other side, and when the fog lifts, you are amazed by your new vantage point.

Our beliefs can be seen as these stepping stones. Instead of viewing them as ‘absolute truths’, view them as ‘a truth that helps you reach the next truth.’ Remain unattached from the beliefs themselves and be open to expanding your perspective.

In a world where polarization is deepening and people are becoming entrenched in their fixed beliefs, be the outlier.

Delight in discovery. Breaking or updating beliefs should be celebrated, not feared, because it means you’ve reached a new level in awareness. It means you’ve come one step closer to finding out who you really are, where you came from, and why you are here.

Stagnation is the enemy of awakening.

Anytime we think we know the full truth, we have succumbed to our ego, fallen for the traps, and stopped growing.

Every time you climb a little higher on the mountain, your vantage of the world around you changes. You open yourself up to new perspectives, new beliefs, and new understandings. You get to see more of the world around you and more of the reality of our existence.

And as you progress, you begin to experience renewed joy, wonder, and excitement as you discover the deeper truths of the world, the universe, and, most importantly, yourself.

That is what the journey is all about: pursuing growth and delighting in discovery.

If you keep an open mind and keep moving forward, you will experience the most beautiful moments the universe has to offer, and as a side effect, start living true to your purpose.

Remember this one key point:

You are the one who holds the key to your awakening, and each door opened is not the destination, but rather, the place for you to discover where the next door lies. The path isn’t about finding the one truth but about becoming the kind of person who keeps seeking.
