Practical Guide to Telepathy (Part 3 of 4):
Increasing Discernment and Reducing Distortion
Recap:
In our previous 2 articles in this guide, we explored the basics of telepathy:
Like downloading a file, telepathy involves an exchange of information packets. These downloads can contain incredible amounts of information and are transferred instantaneously.
Like a phone call, telepathic messages are received with a signal. These signals include emotional, intuitive, somatic, and thought form perceptions.
You can think of telepathy like downloading a movie off the internet. You might be able to download the movie in a few minutes, but to understand the story, you'll need to watch the entire 90-120 minutes. This is the same with telepathy: downloads occur instantaneously, but they must be translated in a linear manner.
The primary challenge is that our conscious minds are used to operating in a linear fashion, which makes telepathy feel much more complicated than it actually is.
This translation process is ripe for distortion, which creates all kinds of issues:
People misinterpret messages altogether, missing the point of the message. Even if it’s a legitimate source, the message is skewed by their conscious mind.
People are susceptible to ‘interference attempts’ and traps laid by malicious actors. They get led on false paths.
People become reliant on ‘external messages’ rather than learning to trust their abilities, their higher selves, and their guides. As a result, their growth stalls and they stagnate.
The purpose of this article is to help you master translating telepathic messages so that you can trust in your discernment and reduce the distortion you are experiencing.
Why does distortion occur?
First, we must define distortion as it relates to telepathy:
Distortion refers to the warping of a message to the point where the information becomes either irrelevant or misleading.
Distortion is ever-present, so the goal is not to completely eliminate it, but rather, to recognize and mitigate the effects.
Distortion is a ‘you problem’ because it’s up to every one of us to master discernment and develop our ability to see through the BS. That is one of the key elements of ascending to the Fourth Density.
External Sources of Distortion:
That said, distortion is not the same as ‘interference attempts’ by malicious actors. There are a host of beings and entities, whether human, NHI, or other intelligences, who seek to distract us from our paths. Interference efforts are beyond the scope of this article; however, it’s essential to recognize that we are all susceptible to interference.
Here’s the key for that: any and all ‘interference efforts’ occur with consent from your higher self. These interference efforts can also create distortion; however, applying the strategies outlined in these articles will provide insulation against most/all interference.
Internal Sources of Distortion:
For a quick recap, let’s review how the communication process works:
As the receivers of a telepathic message, you first recognize that a message has been received through the signal accompanying it (Part 2 of this guide covers that step).
Once you recognize that you received a download, the next step involves decoding the message. This step is the equivalent of ‘watching the movie’ you just downloaded, where you unpack the message.
After ‘watching the movie’, you can then interpret it by assigning meaning to your current situation.
One of the critical points that people often miss is that they skip Decoding and jump straight into Interpretation. It’s important to unpack the message first, then assign meaning second. If we try to analyze the message while decoding, we interrupt the flow and create distortion. Let yourself ‘watch the whole movie’ and take it all in, then you can go back and analyze what it means for you.
Now that we’ve explained the process in more detail, let’s break down the decoding process so that you understand exactly how it works:
For us to decode a message, we must unpack it in a linear fashion. If we use a filter analogy, the download must pass through our “Unconscious Filters” to rise to conscious awareness.
The filters consist of the following:
Bias:
We all carry conscious and unconscious biases, which act as a perspective filter. For example, if you lean to one side or the other of the political spectrum, you will naturally have a bias that prioritizes political beliefs that support your narrative. This will distort incoming messages in a way that further supports your biases. (Similar to the “Confirmation Bias” in psychological terms)
Ego:
Our egos also affect our decoding. Many people hold rigid beliefs and perspectives, and messages that challenge them are often disregarded or distorted because they are unwilling to admit they are wrong, update their beliefs, or improve. As a result, they consciously and unconsciously filter out any messages that would challenge their world views.
Expectations:
If we expect a certain answer, we end up shaping our thought forms to match the expectations we hold. This is evident in the “Double Slit” photon experiment, where scientists found that the act of ‘observing’ the experiment changed the results. If you ask your guides, “What can I do to improve?” and you really want them to say, “leave your relationship/job”, that is the answer you will interpret, regardless of what the original message was.
Conditioning:
We would also add culture, beliefs, and upbringing to this filter. Our conditioning plays a massive role in distortion, and it can often influence our decoding. An example of this is religious conditioning. Many people assume they are receiving communication from religious figures such as Jesus, Angels, or other related beings, because their worldview does not allow them to see the bigger picture. Although this has been allowed because it serves a purpose, recognize that the truth is often much more complex than we initially expected.
Experience:
This is similar to conditioning, but the difference here is that people measure all new experiences against previous ones. Our past experiences literally create the ‘lens’ by which we view future experiences. For example, if you have been cheated on in a relationship, you will have a distorted view of your next relationship because that experience has tainted your perspective. For telepathy, you are measuring incoming messages against your previous life experiences.
Note: These filters are actually helpful and necessary for us to make sense of the world and navigate accordingly, if we can recognize and mitigate their effects.
Decoding Telepathic Messages:
The goal is not to eliminate distortion; it’s to recognize our susceptibility to it and reduce distortion’s impact on our translations. Set aside your biases, conditioning, and ego, and approach it with an open mind. Be open to whatever comes through.
In practice, this works by learning to recognize your ‘distortion tendencies’ and adjusting your decoding and interpretation accordingly. If you know you have a distortion tendency for a particular topic, you can still proceed, but recognize that the message you interpreted might be distorted – so instead of taking it as gospel, you can take it with a grain of salt.
Remember, when we are decoding, it is not to assign meaning. The goal is to get as ‘unfiltered’ a view as possible, so that you can interpret it after the message has been decoded.
In the movie analogy, this would be sitting down and watching the movie in its entirety without judgment. Once the movie is over, you can discuss it with a friend and decide if you liked it, what the theme and messages were, and so on. But if you instead try to analyze it in the moment, you will create distortion.
After you decode the message with as little distortion as possible, you are ready to interpret the message and assign meaning.
Interpreting Telepathic Messages:
Once you have the full and undistorted message in your conscious awareness, you can then analyze the message itself and assign meaning. This is the equivalent of watching the movie, then discussing what it meant to you.
The interpretation phase involves translating the message into thoughtform, which is the primary way our conscious minds operate.
This diagram helps illustrate the process by sharing ways you can enhance interpretation and reduce distortion:
The “Discernment Process” is a way that you can test your interpretation by checking for distortion and validating the meaning you’ve extracted. Let’s break it down a bit:
Sender Distortion:
Who are you interacting with? Is it a collective field, an individual human, or an interdimensional being?
Does this being have your best interests in mind? Are they a verified and trusted source, unknown, or potentially a malicious actor?
Trusted sources have a feel that you learn to recognize over time, much like recognizing a friend's voice on the phone. New sources feel different, which doesn't mean they're malicious, just that you need to verify through other means until you learn their signature.
Unless you are certain you can trust the source, you can flag the source as potentially distorted.
Message Distortion:
After you interpret the message itself, how does it make you feel?
There are two distinct ways to ‘verify’ interpretation, but here’s the key to understanding: positive messages can often be uncomfortable. Distorted messages are often masked as comfort, telling you what you want to hear. This is exactly how malicious actors keep you trapped and stagnant in your growth.
Positive hit:
The message resonates. You might feel some discomfort, but it’s positively oriented to challenge you to grow. You feel like it ‘makes sense’, not through Confirmation Bias, but through resonance.
In addition, even though the content might be uncomfortable, the frequency is comforting. You subtly feel understood, held, supported, and loved. You feel almost like a child does, who is corrected by a loving parent for their greater good and development. Even when receiving discipline, they know their parent loves them and wants them to succeed.
Negative hit:
You feel subtly repulsed by the message. Not because it is uncomfortable, but your intuition tells you the message is not relevant or accurate. It makes you feel ‘gross’, ‘less than’, or it degrades your confidence. Positively oriented messages might be uncomfortable, but they should never leave you feeling inadequate. You might notice a false sense of urgency, where you suddenly feel like you need to take action on something. In contrast, a true message might contain urgency, but it is not sudden. With true messages, urgency builds gradually as a natural consequence of not acting - it's never sudden or surprising because you've been receiving nudges all along.
You feel overly attached to the message. It feels ‘too validating’ for a previous belief or perspective. It tells you exactly what your conscious mind wants to hear. If you want a perfect example of this, look at the popular sources of ‘ascension information’ on YouTube and Reddit. It becomes an endless loop of ‘positive messages’ with zero growth. This is a trap because it’s designed to keep you in your comfort zone.
Receiver Distortion:
We’ve already discussed this earlier, but it’s worth mentioning again:
If you feel emotionally invested in the message, that is a warning sign of distortion. If you ‘want’ a particular answer, that is also a sign of distortion. Deeply held beliefs, ego, and other factors also contribute.
The trick in recognizing your own distortion is simply being aware of when you enter ‘distortion territory.’
External Validation:
Distortion does not mean the message was false, it simply means we need to practice refined interpretation methods.
Your guides are intelligent and understand you better than your conscious mind does. As a result, they will send crucial messages in multiple ways. So the best way to test for distortion is to look for external validation in your environment.
For example, if your guides are recommending that you leave your job, it shouldn’t be a surprise. You will likely have a feeling that it isn’t the right job for you. You may have direct thought form downloads in the form of “ah, this job is so frustrating, I should look for a different one.” This will continue for a while, and if you don’t take the nudge, it will escalate and take other forms.
Maybe your friend or family member also mentions this to you. (This is one way our guides work, by cooperating with other people’s higher selves to insert messages externally)
Perhaps you begin to experience challenges at work, including frustrating customers, extra pressure from your boss, and conflict with team members. Small indicators that are also hidden messages.
If a message is legitimate, you should also notice external forms of validation that come in the form of signs, synchronicities, and nudges.
If we stray too far from our paths, we often experience escalating discomfort that builds until we make the necessary changes, and this can even include illness as a catalyst for us.
Enhancing Your Translations:
As we discussed in Part 1, when you receive messages, they are accompanied by a signal. The goal is to recognize the signal, and allow the message to come through as unfiltered as possible.
Most people have so much clutter in their minds, they are unable to recognize they received a message, let alone decode and interpret the messages. So the goal is to reduce the noise in our minds so that we have as clear of a channel as possible. The protocol is simple in theory but can be challenging in practice.
Here are the general steps that you can apply the next time you receive a message:
Open yourself up to receiving: clear your mind, and ‘open’ your field to the message. It can be helpful to visualize a form of stillness and pay attention to any sensations, emotions, thoughts, and visuals that arise. Make a mental note of what you notice, without trying to force anything.
Allow thought forms to emerge: let your thoughts flow freely without stopping to analyze or interpret. What images are appearing? What thoughts are coming in? How do you feel?
Document your observations: Make a mental note or write down what you perceived. This is helpful to strengthen your perception. It is quite literally exercise for your abilities; the more you do it, the stronger and more overt your perception becomes.
Mindfulness, awareness, and curiosity are the drivers to expand your abilities. The more you practice, the more effective this becomes. It can be helpful to adopt the frame of “what if this is authentic” instead of “this doesn’t feel real” to help bypass your conscious mind’s tendency to overanalyze or doubt your ability.
Once we decode the message, we need to interpret its meaning. This involves reflecting on what you received, and comparing it with your circumstances.
Use these tips to help your interpretations:
The messages you receive are not ‘laws’ or ‘ultimate truths’; they are perspectives.
The advice you receive is meant to provide guidance, not instruction. Weigh the advice, but don’t take it at face value until you are more comfortable in the practice.
Use discernment, judgment, and decision-making. Don’t make hasty decisions or get stuck in fixed beliefs; always be open to refining and evolving your perspective.
Ultimately, it comes down to practice. The more you pay attention to the signals, allow the messages to flow, and learn to recognize the different frequencies, the clearer things become. At this time, telepathy is still fairly subtle, so it will likely still ‘sound’ like your thoughts, but you should be capable of recognizing different ‘sender’ frequencies.
In Part 4 of our guide, we will examine how telepathy functions at a mechanical level, which involves a concept that forms the foundation for dimensional existence and perception.
